Abia State Commends Nigeria Police For Combatting Kidnappings In The State

The Abia State governor Chief Theodore Orji has commended the Nigeria Police in its effort in helping the state combat kidnappings.

The governor stated this during a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police IGP Suleiman Abba at the Force Headquarters Abuja on Friday.

Responding to journalists on how the state has been tackling the issue of kidnapping in the state Orji said, ‘’The Nigerian Police worked very hard in helping us combat kidnapping in Abia State. I am happy to announce that we are on top of the situation, and that it has reduced drastically.

“We act in accordance with the laws passed by the House of Assembly. When a kidnaper’s house is demolished, it is demolished in accordance with the law. When a kidnapper is caught at times taking him to the court takes a long time, most times people don’t come to testify but you can catch a kidnapper in the act, by so doing you will find out their houses and get them demolished’, Orji said.
