British High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Visit To Inspector General of Police

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, has stated that the Nigeria Police Force will sustain and improve on the existing relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the British Government.

He made this known when he received the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Dr. Andrew Pocock on Thursday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The IGP noted that the Nigeria Police Force has benefited immensely from trainings offered by the British Authorities and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) in the areas of capacity building and development, community policing and other core policing issues. He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to the greater improvement of the existing ties between the Nigeria Police and the British Government.

On his part, Dr. Pocock stated that he was at the Force Headquarters to congratulate the IGP on his new appointment as the Inspector-General of Police and expressed the wish that, in view of the present challenging times, there is a need not just for a continuation but an improvement on the existing mutually beneficial relationship between his country and the Nigeria Police Force.
