Man Who Impersonated Gael Kakuta Arrested After Racking Up £15,000 in bills

Gael Kakuta
A man who racked up £15,000 in bills while impersonating Gael Kakuta is now in custody.

According to the Mail, police caught the man who was spending like crazy, apparently on the credit of looking like an average footballer.

Medi Abalimba, 25, pretended to be the Frenchman while in London, getting a room at the Mandarin Oriental, then spending £9,600 at another hotel before dropping £5,000 at a club. It's remarkable how much you can spend on credit because you look somewhat like a professional.

And how did Abalimba get caught? Because he tried to give out shoes as a tip.

Police were able to pull his fingerprints off of a pair of Harvey Nichols shoes that he gave out in lieu of a tip. Once found, he confessed to the fraud.
