On
05.11.2014 at about 3:25PM, Police responded to a distress call of armed
robbery at EcoBank along Mile 4 Ikwerre road Port-Harcourt. There was a
shootout; two of the armed robbery suspects were fatally injured.
According to a press release by the police, one AK-47
riffle, one Beretta Pistol, Two Toy Guns and the gang’s operational vehicle -
Golf Saloon Car reg no. EV 761 SMK recovered.
The sum of FIFTEEN MILLION SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA (N15,635,500) snatched from the bank was also recovered by the Police.
Corpses
of hoodlums deposited at the mortuary, while efforts to apprehend other gang
members that fled the scene with gunshot wounds are been intensified. State CID
Port-Harcourt is investigating.
