Lagos Denies Cover Up In Synagogue Disaster

Toyin Ayinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development has debunked rumours making the rounds that the state government is trying to cover up the investigation into the collapsed building belonging to The Synagogue Church of All Nations.
Ayinde who said he had warn a Lagos based television station for promoting such untrue reports also said, the Close Circuit Television, CCTv footage provided by the church has made it important to tread with caution in the course of the investigation.

He told TELL magazine that the team of Engineers set up by the state government to investigate the cause of the collapsed six-storey building were on the site of the collapsed building this Thursday, to take sample of the building materials for scientific analysis.

He therefore appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the team of investigators so that they would come up with an unbiased report on the matter. Ayinde added that contact has been made with the aviation authorities following the allegations raised by the church.

The church had supported its claims with video footage while alleging that the September 12 incidence that killed over 86 people and injured than 131 was caused by a mysterious aircraft that hovered over the building before it crumbled.
