UPDATE: Girl Shot In The Head By Father Dies

The family of a seven-year-old girl who died in hospital after being shot in the head by her father have paid tribute to their ‘beautiful and loving’ daughter.

Tributes poured in for Mary Shipstone after Sussex police announced that she had died yesterday at King’s College hospital, London, where she had been fighting for her life following the shooting.

Police say Mary’s father, Yasser Alromisse, 46, turned up at his ex-partner’s Northiam, East Sussex, home on Thursday afternoon and opened fire from his parked car following a dispute.

He then turned the gun on himself, authorities believe.

‘This is a dreadfully sad and shocking incident,’ said a spokeswoman for Beckley Church of England primary school, where Mary was a pupil.

‘The whole school community will be praying for her and her family.’

In a statement, Mary’s relatives said:

‘We are today grieving the death of our beautiful and loving Mary.’
