Police Arrest Fake Pastor for Raping Teenager

Men of the Ekiti State Police Command, have arrested a man named Anthony Arogunmasa, a suspected fake Pastor, for allegedly raping a 19-year old girl (names withheld).

According to This Day newspaper, Arogunmasa, 29, was nabbed by detectives attached to the Ikere Divisional Police Station, Ikere Ekiti, when they got wind of how he allegedly tricked the hapless girl to his house and raped her .

According to a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Mr Victor Babayemi in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Arogunmasa , who lived at Araromi street, Ikere Ekiti, was said to have accosted the victim and took her to his house under the pretext of giving her spiritual cleansing.

Babayemi said the suspect, who confessed to the crime, “accosted the victim on 23rd September, 2014 at about 2pm and lured her to his house to perform spiritual cleansing because he perceived that victim was under a spiritual spell.

“On getting to his room, the victim was threatened and put under fear of harm before being raped”, Babayemi said the suspect confessed this under interrogation, adding that medical report performed by the Police had confirmed that the victim was actually raped  by the suspect.
