Fire Guts Building, Destroys Property Worth Millions




A two storey building situated at 176, Iju road was today partially gutted by fire with eye witnesses claiming the fire started as a result of a thunder strike.

The incident which occurred around 3pm had people in the building scraping to safety immediately the alarm was raised.

The flat that went up in flames was owned by a yet to be named recording studio with property worth millions of naira destroyed.

According to an eye witness, DJ Levics, the fire started immediately the thunder struck and he was sure it triggered the fire.

He said “I was in my room when the thunder struck and my television set was even affected. Some minutes later, we heard the shouting and immediately, people came to assist”.

When SAB (segunakinleye’sblog) got to the scene of the incident, fire fighters had already put out the fire. All efforts to the owner of the building proved abortive.
